Giving back and helping
others .. The Elmers and Volunteer
Examiners..
Amateur Radio
has a proud tradition of helping out
new hams learn the technical knowledge and
conceptual understanding consistent with your status as a
licensed radio amateur. Who better to help you
learn than a fellow ham!
By making yourself available and
helpful to new HAMS in your community, you will be
carrying on the proud tradition of being a
radio ELMER.
Another very important way for those wanting to
be of assistance for the Amateur Radio Service
is to volunteer and become an accredited
Volunteer Examiner.
The ARRL VEC provides
the training you need to become a Volunteer Examiner. This
program is designed for amateurs who reside in the
United States. Be sure to check and see
if you can volunteer in your region and be of service
too!
